TIHANE is a Polynesian Croatian artist who blends Pacific Islander influenced melodies and rhythms with Eastern European inspired lyricism and vintage soul. Her multi-cultural collaborations with producers, particularly from East & West Africa,
creates a unique fusion of musical perspectives.  

Born as Marushka Tihane Mujic, TIHANE began her music career known as "Marushka."  Working with Grammy Award winning creatives worldwide - such as Russell Elevado (D’Angelo, Erykah Badu, Keziah Jones), Brian West (K’Naan, Maroon 5) Timothy Stewart (Lady GAGA), Monte Neuble (Rihanna, Mary J Blige) and Raymond Angry (Lauryn Hill, Quest Love) - she toured France with artist Beth Hart (2014) playing legendary historic venues, such as L’Olympia, released a single in partnership with Vevo, headlined classic venues, such as NYC’s Soho House, South Africa's "Homecoming" festival and private events, summits, etc (GenderSmart Investing, Creative Visions Foundation).  

During a decade in Kenya, TIHANE collaborated with African music pioneers, Blinky Bill (Just A Band), Owuor Arunga (Macklemore), Jojo Abot and Kato Change, where she co-founded a musical collective (Cosmic Homies - Taio Tripper, Karun Mungai, Joseph Kiwango) headlining a range of prestigious stages from SXSW to YALE University, Nyege Nyege Festival (Uganda) and Africa Nouveau (Kenya).  Along the way, she released multiple collaboration singles, EPs and projects, but ultimately felt called to clear her musical slate and start a new chapter as TIHANE - in honor of her homecoming to the Pacific Islander heritage,
which she cites as her main creative inspiration.

As TIHANE, she played her first show in September 2021 for BBC Introducing in collaboration with Wanderling Lex. In December 2021, she curated a live show with Ghanian artist ENAM.   

Moana is the first official single released by TIHANE, produced by Shy Maxwell - a Ghanian American producer she met in Accra. The song was finished in the Hollywood Hills home studio of the late great Bill Withers with Ghanian/Ugandan/American producer Segnon Tiewul.  

TIHANE was born in California, raised in Hawaii, traveled internationally, lived in Kenya for 10 years and is currently spending most of her time between
West Africa and the West Coast of America.
